Best place to sell old jewelry?

I have several rings and old chains that I don't want/need anymore and we could use some extra cash for Christmas. Where is a good place to take them? I don't want to go to a non-reputable place and get raped. Anybody have some personal experience with somewhere?

My mom went to dallas gold and silver off 635 / 35 and was pleased with them, but she did have a professional appraiser since a few of the pieces were significantly valued. If you do sell a necklace with stones, get a price with / without stones. Depends on the value tho.
