Advive On 1997 GMC SWB

Been looking for a SWB that I can do a 4/6 drop with wheels & tires. Maybe some engine mods too. Came across this 1997 GMC on Craigslist but not sure if the price is too high. Don't know much about these trucks so any help would be much appreciated!!!

Probably has some rust issues also being that close to salt water.

I was thinking $3000 Tops but would rather pay $2500. The seller said that there is no rust at all on it. Odometer reads 208K miles & he has no proof of the engine replacement or rebuilt transmission. He said the engine came out of a Z71. Said the previous owner had it done.

I wouldn't pay anymore than 2500, that many miles without proof of a rebuild? All you have is his word and an honest word is hard to come by.

I offered him $2500 Cash but he said its worth more so I cay thanks & good luck with the sell.
