From a buddy:
Another massacre in a Gun Free Zone. A tragedy for sure. I am in no way unsympathetic with the victims!
But while it should open the public's eye to the futility of creating these illusional safe zones it is already used as an argument that more gun laws are needed.
Nevermind that 60 million or so legally gun owning Americans DIDN'T shoot anybody today and the sheer statistical absurdity of ignoring that fact is mind boggling.
Nevermind the fact that even if we somehow managed to make the millions of legally owned guns in America dissapear overnight we'd still have the illegally owned ones which certainly will not be turned in voluntarily.
Nevermind the cold hard fact that we are getting all the illegal drugs we can swallow across a porous land border from Mexico making the Narco cartels filthy rich. So tomorrow it would be guns and dope.
Nevermind the simple fact that killing people is already illegal 7 ways under the sun and seems to have done nothing to prevent this tragedy.
Nevermind any logic at all!
I am indeed mad. Mad first at all at the crazy loon that did this, mad at the press for milking it for every bit it's worth because since it bleeds it leads, mad at the anti gunners which use it for their agenda and mad at any lawmakers suggesting feel good laws to "prevent" such things in future.
The only logical way to "prevent" this 100% is to completely disarm the entire country, create a police force that is millions strong and indeed at every corner and monitor everybody's intentions 100% of the time. What comes to mind is "Minority Report" and "1984". Anything less can not be 100% and thus not be certain to work. Who wants that?Non tapatalk Sig so the butt hurt va-JJs can stop crying about not being able to turn it off.

Media drives more influence than anything else in this world, currently.

But as long as people crave more ghory details, the media will race to supply it. I don't see there being a real fix.
And really, I don't blame the media, or God, or Satan, or anyone else, for the evil committed by this scumbag. He takes all of the blame.

And of you're referring to heaven, well, I guess I don't need the idea of heaven or hell to help sway my decisions, either. And frankly, if there is a God (I'm not an atheist - I do believe just about anything is possible outside of our human world and understanding), then I'll just hope (and maybe even have faith) that he's a really cool dude who will recognize that I lived a pretty positive life and was overall a nice guy, and he'll invite me in with a high five.May God give us strength and courage in the time of our darkest hours.
