75 HOV Lane

Just a rant. Thanks to another person that can't follow the rules and decided to pull into the HOV illegally I got to see and feel what its like when airbags go off.

Some taxi driver with a passenger pulled in around Campbell at a near crawl over the white dividers and left me the option of hoping to stop, hit the wall, or go into other cars.

Managed to get it home after cutting away the deployed bag. Had a witness stop to give me their info. DART/Richardson police gave him a nice ticket and now I get to deal with insurance companies and hope they don't try and total mine out.

Short version of the story : Its not worth it to pull into the HOV lane illegally folks.

I can at least say my Taurus held up rather well considering. Its a 2007 Ford Taurus SEL with 70k on it but now has a "custom" hood, bumper, etc. Both airbags blown, windshield cracked, and lots of rattles and noises.

thisss guy. i take the HOV almost every day and it's insane how often it happens. esp. on 30 heading west in front of six flags/hurricane harbor. traffic on the highway will be going 5-10mph and the hov is moving at 60 and people just hop over. thankfully there is a decent shoulder, i've had to use it.

x1 billion on hating the taxis around here.. They are by far the worst drivers I encounter on a daily basis.

They're like the truck drivers of old.. Going too fast when behind you, and too slow when in front of you.. And otherwise just a general PITA every time else.
