Im actually a ford mechanic at a dealership in austin and you are correct there is a police mode and it only takes like 10 minutes to switch it off

From what I hear on F150 forums, the hardest part is finding someone willing and knowledgeable enough to take the 10 minutes to do it.
This only applies to 2011 and newer F150's. 2010 and older F150s can have the courtesy lights turned on/off by the dash dimmer switch.

Not meaning to poke fun at any techs, or the OP. I wonder how long it would take a dealer to fix it, if nothing was said about the police mode. GEM module, door switches get replaced?Some cars and a bike...
