  • Fort Worth is the nation's richest city...... for now

Billions of dollars worth of bearer bonds are reported at a document restoration facility in FTW. Rumor has it could be up to $70B worth of bonds were damaged in Sandy and have been moved to FTW for restoration.

This was supposed to have been secret, but somehow the Star Telegram broke the story.

    (Now THAT'S Choo-choo money!)

I fail to see how this makes the city any richer than before, it's not money that belongs to the city.

The National Treasury and Federal Reserve are based in D.C., wouldn't that be the "richest" city?

                  Don't believe so.

There's a vault under the streets of NYC that houses untold amounts of currency, suspected to be the largest single depository in the world - so I"ve heard.

My point being that storing money for someone else does not make you any richer any moreso than saying that the local valet owns thousands of cars.

I was being a tad factious, but in reality bearer bonds are financial instruments and are payable on demand to the bearer, so in reality they are like cash/gold and possession is 9/10 law.
