  • Lost a very dear friend last night....

This is just killing me today.....a guy that I work with, I used to be his manager, and over the years we became really good friends. I was notified this morning that he was hit and killed riding his bicycle home from work last night. This guy was one of the most intelligent and kind people I've ever had the privilege to call my friend...if I had to label him with one word....Genuine.

Just turned 47 a little over a month ago....He left behind a wife and 2 young boys....he had somewhat recently lost his Dad too, so they're family is really being dealt a load.

Tom and I have son's in the same Cub Scout Pack. We started at one school, and moved to a new pack together last year. His younger son was so excited when he got to join his dad and brother on our activities as a Tiger Cub this year.

I'm deeply saddened by this and will miss his smiling face at our events.

Genuine would be a perfect way to describe him.

Yes, he was really into the scouting deal with Matthew and Zach...hell, actually into everything with those boys. I can't imagine how badly this is going to effect them and Julie.

Sorry to hear this. As I mentioned in another thread, I almost lost my dad when I was younger, probably 6 or 7, to someone not paying attention, they hit him when he was on his bicycle. Thankfully he was wearing his helmet. He did suffer some brain trauma, fortunately though, it just cost him his sense of taste and smell. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Sorry about your friend. One of the worst fears I have while driving is plowing into the back of a biker.

                        Bicyclists, not motorcycle biker.

                              sorry to hear, RIP.

This is why as much as I love riding road bikes I REFUSE to ride anymore. It's idiots that dont pay attention or see you and run you over.
