That article is a tuners nightmare. It will last one 1/4 miles pass at the most. Under a real load it will destroy the engine quickly.

503 on an engine dyno. An LS3 with lid, longtubes and a tune makes that.

Yeah and they powdered some rods. They addressed it at the beginning of the article by detailing the ring gap changes and avoiding welding a ring to the bore and prematurely grenadine the bottom end.

funny thing about that story was they thought they were testing a 5.3, then on the tear down after the test they realized it was just a 4.8
