  • It's official - New shop opening soon

As some of you may have heard, I was planning on leaving my steady, good paying technology job to do hot rod work full time (man, what was I thinking?!)

That day is here - today, I've turned in my 2 weeks notice at my job of nearly 6 years. I will be leaving here on 12/14 and hoping to have the shop opened (completely) for business by 1/1/2013.

I figure I've been doing car fab work for 15+ years, have done a LOT of cars for board memebers, a lot of turbo work, a lot of cage work and a lot of installs, it's time to make it count.

The shop isn't BIG (yet), I can accomodate about 10-12 cars (for now). It's just me, but i'll be working full time. I'll be doing the same work that everyone knows me for, as well as tuning, installs, suspension, cages etc. I hope to have a dyno by summer time, if not sooner. (there's one in the business park that I will likely be using for the interim)

I will have CNC capability sometime in february, general machine work, and eventually a slew of fabricated/machined parts ready to go (mainly associated to turbo kits, exhaust etc)

I'm taking appointments for late january for most everything. PM me for details.

Shop phones won't be active till around January 1st, so PM's are the best way to communicate right now.

The shop is located in a large business park located in Keller/Haslet area. I will have a 'grand opening' and a party sometime in the spring, so make plans.

I'm so happy for you, Brooks.

I know you're nervous about leaving "work," but you're very talented and I know you will truly be happy.. you'll be doing what you love, for a "job."

          Love you!

Thanks everyone, I certainly appreciate the support - it means a lot to me.

For an added bonus, I have a 4,000sq ft. lot in the back of the shop. I plan on adding some dirt mounds and having some RC races sooner or later.
