Being born in 1975 I seem to fall smack dab in the middle of Gen X. I am a firm believer that Gen Y will be the downfall of our society. Just sayin'.

BTW, I was always taught to use the Oxford Comma with the disclaimer that it was optional.. I tend to over-use commas though, to infer a pause in speech, since I tend to write as I would speak.

Gen X is working wonders with society right now. Just sayin'.

Also, that's what the baby boomers said about Gen X. And what the generation that preceded them said about the baby boomers. It's the same old fucking song and dance, and it's even more hilarious when the generation in power is blaming a generation that's yet to make any indelible impact on the world.

Is Gen Y going to fuck shit up? Absolutely. Is Gen Y going to fuck shit up worse than Gen X? That bar is pretty fucking high.

Unlike many rules concerning punctuation, there's no universally accepted rule on the use of the Oxford Comma. American manuals tend to say to always include it, the fucking Associated Press manual says not to, and the usually retarded British also tend to eschew its use.

The sentence above, however, is a really good example of why you should make a habit of using it: not using the Oxford Comma can make shit ambiguous and including it is never wrong.

Yeah, you do use a lot of commas when you tell stories, I've noticed that. That way there is no period where a person could jump in and add a word!

Yeah, I can see that, I think it is from working the radio when I was in the Army. Except in lieu of the comma, you say "break".

It's funny every generation tends to look down on the next one. Yet we tend to make it.
