I found roundtrip airfare from Sacramento to DFW for $500 not including fees, which sure beats the grand I spent last year, but I don't see you finding airfare low enough to be able to tack on a hotel for 6 nights.

You should be able to find a deal to Vegas for that.. That's the same basic dates we went last year.. You might end up in a downtown hotel though. Unless you have comps.
