Looking for some advice here fellas. I placed a order yesterday on Cyber Monday for a Sharp Aquos 52" LED 1080P 120Hz Smart TV for $799.99. When I placed the order it said it was available for pick-up at the store on the same day & would hold until Dec 4th. I recieved a email last night stating that the item was not available for pick-up. Called customer service all day today & the TV is not in stock anywhere. So they want to credit my account back but I want a TV that is comparable to the one I ordered for the same price. They don't want to do that. I have the print out of the order that states that it is available to pick-up at the store on Nov 26. If I try to go on there now & place a order it says out of stock. Any chance I can get an other TV that is priced higher for the same price of $799.99? That TV is back up to $1099.99.

I contacted my local Best Buy & they said it is out of there hands. Bestbuy.com would have to resolve the issue or make it right.

    Thanks!

An employee discount will get you one lower than that . Tip a young kid that works there.

Employee discount is usually only around 20%...
20% of 1,099.99 is only $219.99. Which would make it $880...

why would you try to get the 52" Sharp when there's a 55" Samsung LED for $799 right now?

It was a Black Friday tv, and the price is still the same as it was then. main downfall I see of it is the 2 HDMI inputs vs the 4 of the Sharp.

Most likely you placed your order online, they received it at the store and then either could not locate the tv (need to make an inventory adjustment), ran out of stock before your order came in, or maybe had a license plate adjustment needed to be made (such as the system showing a TV new in box when it was actually an open item or a shelf display).

Yes I can but they said if it is after Dec 4th then they have to credit my account back & wait till it gets back in stock but they can't guarantee the $799 price.

They are going to tell you to eat shit. It's the same thing they did last Christmas season.

The inventory system they use isn't 100%, especially if the person in the back doesn't give a damn about internet orders. If they gave away a similar product for the sale price of what isn't in stock for internet orders they would be in even more trouble than they are already.

has more to do with errors in the system and errors in processing and dispositions of the product.

say they have 3 of these tv's in the store and 1 is a shelf display, 1 is a open item, and 1 is set to be sent to service. if any of these tv's do not have a correct disposition for them in the system (RSS), they would/could show up as new in box, meaning someone online could put in an order for any of those tv's. that doesn't mean the order has to go through though, which is likely what happened. if the NIB tv was not available in the store, then they would decline the order in the store when it popped through in their orders to be picked.

what store are you looking to pick it up at? also, did they tell you in the store that they are able to order the tv into the store for you? or they can find the tv at another store and make an order so it's held for you to pick up at that store.

The store & online said they are out of stock. I'm going to wait a couple of days & see if anything changes.
