I have a GE profile side by side, and the only issue I've had is that occasionally the water line to the dispenser will freeze.
This happens to mine all the time.... freezes the ice maker supply line too... ice maker stays broke about half the time. Motherboard has failed, too much stuff going wrong on a 'frig that cost this much.
btw... if you turn on the dispenser light, it will thaw out the frozen water line.

Yeah, I figured that out about the light. This only happens maybe twice a year. It's really not that big of a deal to me. And knock on wood, that's he only problem I've had with it.

But, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.
We bought a Whirlpool french door when we moved into our house about 6 months ago. No big issues with it so far. My only complaint is I've pulled the handle off the freezer a few times. It fits over two knobs on the door and then slides to the right to "lock" on. Over time it works itself loose so I have to push it back over to "locked" every now and then. I'm not sure if that's a design flaw or something wrong with my handle though.
Take a plastic grocery bag or two and wrap it on the post that the handle slips on to. Not excessive just enough to take up the slack and make the handle "lock on" better. Trim bag so it isn't hanging out from under handle.
