well for the employee's sake, they need someone to speak up for them. no way your employer should make it mandatory that you have to come in on thanks giving day. youtube some of the video's of walmart black friday and tell me you would want to work that circus.

My wife works at a hospital and has the same situation, or rather has at previous hospitals. It sucks, no doubt, but that is where they choose to work.

I didn't cut her any slack on it and I won't cut them any either. If you don't like it go work somewhere else. She took my advice and we get to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas together for the first time since we have been married.

I had this exact discussion a few days ago about Wally World.

As for 'representation'... No they don't need any. It is a job that requires no skill set. The people working at Wally World oftentimes are lazy and treat the job like the shit job it is. Since they work in a 24/7/365 retail store, they should expect to work the hours the store sets.
