With a house this old you will likely be looking at upgrading the electrical boxes, all wiring, plumbing, and insulation if you are planning on a resale anyway. Add in the fire damage and you will essentially be rebuilding the entire house. This will amount to a considerable investment of time and $$$.
If the house is in a desirable location you will need to determine whether or not it is worth it to you to do so. Those factors start with the value of the surrounding houses, the estimated amount of $$$ & time required to get this house back into tip top shape, the amount you are willing to pay (stay on the low side here), and if you have the resources & gumption to stay with this project until it is complete. If you don't stay focused and finish it on a schedule you will lose your shirt. There will also be a lot of things that will come up during the restoration that no one even considered that will cost you $$$ and frustration (as Vertnut points out). You can make a big profit off this type of house but there are pitfalls along the way. Where do you want to invest your time & money?

Mostly smoke damage, very little burn. Wouldn't be a terrible repair, but the whole house needed resto before the fire. Wouldn't be terrible if you wanted to repair to live there for a while and renovate but not a quick fix and flip kinda place."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford
