Or even company bi-laws are against hiring someone for an arrest?

Yes it does. As far as I remember you can't ask someone if they have been charged with a crime, only if they have been convicted of it. I might be a little off, or that might be more our policy than actual law, but IIRC it is law.

No it doesn't. Not to most people.

There are a lot of places that won't do any kind of background check. If he really wants a job, accuracy by volume.

Sorry Jose, but your friend sounds like a worthless piece of shit. He deserves his situation. You might want to distance yourself from him before he fucks you over in some way.

Lots of good, honest people struggling to find work. I definitely wouldn't hire anyone like that. But like people mentioned, he should go try to be a roughneck.

That's because they listen to their delusional professors who swear after they graduate they can instantly make a top notch salary, therefore they go out with high expectations. When reality bites them in the ass they think all hope is lost and will not lower themselves to start from the bottom. I can't count the idiots fresh out of college who would give me a stupid look when I would counter their offer when I was a supervisor. They should have at least be thankful they didn't have to move to a piss water town to start their career.

oh thats good, why not just hand him a loaded .38 point to his temple and wait for him to finish the job. god forbid you have family in the same situation.

jose im not saying the guy is or isnt a lost cause but the members of this site damn sure arent the right people to ask, you can only figure that out for yourself. i myself have been to the brink and only by Gods grace was i snatched back and now im working, about to go back to school and rebuilding. sometimes the best people are the ones you count out.

Not everyone in tough situations looks at suicide as an option. Then again, if he did... One less thief.

Ummm... the one's I'm aware of would take about anything. Some are pretty good friend's of my daughter's. They don't strike me as being cocky or disillusioned. But, I digress. So would you take the convict/forger/thief over the grad?

People can change themselves and their situation if they really want to. I think he deserves all of the hardships and nasty attitudes (like mine) that he encounters. If he can somehow make it through all of that by hard work and determination and doing the right things, then more power to him.

                              Depends on the interview.

Lol! You're not making any sense.

I never mentioned anything about the guy killing himself. YOU brought that shit in here out of left field. My advice was for him to try to find a job as a roughneck.

And how do parties have anything to do with it? Or whether or not anyone talks back to me? Random Man! This thread and this guy's situation have nothing to do with me.

Ya, he does have a hard time now by his own design. And ya, maybe he'll become a better person. If he does, great. But he shouldn't get any special consideration. You're just sympathizing with him because you've been an epic dumbshit for a long time, yourself. It takes a lot of time and effort to overcome that perception, and you're not helping it right now.
