With some experience you can spot the bullshitters a mile away, especially the ones that manage to answer every single thing "correctly." They usually lay it on way too thick. Of course to offset it you have the people who pull out their cell phone and start texting, or ask if the picture of your wife is your daughter, or.... It goes on and on. Interviewing is always an interesting job.

It's pretty hard for us to catch someone stealing most of the time, though we usually have a sense who it is, especially if you've got a tenured crew and 1 new guy. lol In that case, nearly anyone these days can be fired for attendance after a short paper trail. I've used that method several times, and also won the low shrink bonus for my district.

Umm, Did you say.... daughter?
Lol. Sorry Randy, you know I had to!

The prisons are full of repeat offenders, and for that reason alone it's going to take alot of convincing to get people to see that you're reformed, when you have a record. Words aren't worth shit at that point, it takes action to rebuild ones reputation.
I'm all for second chances, and allowing a person to SHOW me that they've changed. That having been said, if you've got a DUI on your record, I won't be hiring you to drive a school bus.
