Thanks for all the suggestions and offers for help, guys! I will definitely be passing on the helpful info to her. As far as Christmas goes, She is 14 and in 8th grade. I don't have a clue as to what she's into, although today we were talking about food and she was talking about how she is still on a low-bacteria diet and she can't wait to be able to eat Sushi again-that's what she misses the most.

I know she doesn't have many clothes and since she's lost her hair, she's pretty self-conscious about going back to school in January. Just some ideas.

I'll ask some of my 8th grade girls the kinds of stuff they would want & post it up here. I'll help by picking up a gift or two.

I'm not sure how going through the AGs office works, but maybe that's why its taking so long to get child support. The govt takes forever to get anything done!

I feel compelled to say this.. A fellow board member contacted Leah tonight and has made a very generous offer to buy a car for this person. I have no intention of "outing" this person but wanted to say, for their benefit, kudos to you. Members of this community never cease to amaze me.

This kind of offer was not Leah's intent, nevertheless this person has offered to step up and help in a big way. And I personally know this is not the first time he has stepped up to help out, without recognition. This kind of thing makes me proud to be a member here. Good on you sir. I am not a religious person so all I can say is that I hope you have and continue to receive all of the good karma you deserve.

I just told Craig that this is the reason I went into the teaching field. I get such a rush out of helping people. Just knowing that this could change their future literally makes me tear up. I can't freaking wait to be able to take her the keys to her future and see the looks on their faces!!

Since I've had so many inquiries, IF you would like to donate something (I really wasn't going for this, but the response has been overwhelming!) I will set up a paypal account for them and right before we go on Christmas break, get them a gift card to Walmart or Target or something so they can get clothes or whatever they need.

If you would like to bring something for them, we will be at both Christmas parties and will be more than happy to collect anything you might want to give.
