Too many good public schools out there to pay that kind of money for TCU. Don't see how the football team has money for drugs.

Baylor is damn close to that, at about $34k+ a year.

As long as people keep paying it, they will keep raising prices. As long as the banks can keep handing out money with federal guarantees, people will keep paying. Watch what happens when this all blows the fuck up.

JFC at 36k a year for TCU. Good University and all, but it ain't Harvard. Have they even broken in to the top 100 yet? Last time I looked they were ranked around 115 or so for academics.
Ranked by whom and which programs? College "rankings" are as diversified and numerous as just about anything I can think of.

Baylor keeps going up as well. Not sure with TCU, but Baylor is retardedly generous with scholarship money. Merit based scholarships for SAT/ACT performance alone had my tuition at about $3k more per semester than a state school.

No, I figured out that had nothing to do with it when a not particularly bright girl I dated freshman year had the same scholarship.

You watch your tongue! I've clung to my 95th and 97th percentiles in SAT and ACT scores, respectively, as proof that I'm more intelligent than most for 10 years now.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Private schools are certainly a lot more generous than their state-funded counterparts. My oldest went to a very expensive private school, and got money for everything from "metroplex scholar" to "charity work" to playing sports. My youngest went to UT and it cost me more than double. She finally got money through McCombs her junior and senior year, but never more than a couple thousand. Go figure.

My wife has an acquaintance that has worked at TCU for 12 years or so (in the office; no big-shot) and her two kids both went to school there on "full scholarship". She always says the pay isn't that great, but with 8 years of tuition figured in, I'm thinking she's done pretty well. We have a friend at DBU and they have the same policy for employee's kids.

Wonder if that's why tuition there is so high, educating all the staff kids?

I got a 1430 on my SAT and TCU pushed a bunch of poor and ethnic kids out of the way and threw money at me. Joke was on them when I had a 2.4 gpa after my first semester.

I'm not sure. Her kids are a little older than mine, but not much. I'm guessing that's still a perk of the "employment package". I know it is at DBU.
