  • Small Business Insurance questions.

    I'm opening a shop at the beginning of the year and I have to round up some necessary stuff, like, Insurance.

    ...Keep in mind I do racecar fab work, hot rod stuff etc.

    I've only made two calls, one to USAA (that's who my auto policies are through), and one to State Farm.

    USAA flat out said they can't inusre me, and State Farm has to call the underwriter to get a decision - but the agent seemed skeptical, and will likely get a big fat hell no from them as well.

    Any ideas who's 'race car insurance friendly'??

    I'd try calling someone local shops in the area and ask who their garage keepers policy are through.

      I got mine through my Allstate agent. It wasn't insured thorugh allstate, but they took care of it. I had $1M protection on customer property, $500K on my property, $30k max per claim per vehicle, with a $200 deductible per occurance for $550/6months. Enjoy the tax burden. Good luck.

            Not a problem. Aso, not sure where you are, but my agent was Aaron Hall in the Keller office. Excellent no BS agent.

                    we used techinsurance.com, but we're a tech company. Not sure if they offer/have an affiliate that does other types. Far cheaper and easier than the brokers (including the guy I get my personal from).

                          The shop will be located in the Keller/Haslet area. I'll post specifics later, but I'll be doing the same stuff I do now, and a lot more tuning. I don't want to elaborate too much now, as I'm not a paid advertiser and I'm not open for business either.
