A very big risk not just for the inspector but the shop as well that's why I mentioned he'd have to "convince" the person to do it.

What do you mean by "having the timing fixed"? Timings not adjustable. Either the cps sensor is bad or timing chain and guides need to be replaced.

I took it to a shop in West McKinney. They said they could adjust the timing. Line them up by loosening up a tensioner or something like that. What ever they did worked for about a month and the car has slowly worked its way back to running rough. A little sputter. You can barely notice it while driving. If you are at a stop and give it gas, you can feel the roughness. I have replaced the camshaft sensor. When I took the car to them they said it was not a sensor. It was the timing itself. I don't think they did anything with the timing. Cause when they were done, the check engine light was still on. So I picked up my car and they told me to bring it back in a couple of weeks. Never charged me for what ever they actually did. Something they did, made the car run very well for about a month. My understanding, it's gonna cost a lot of money to have the timing done right. They said they cheated by adjusting from the cam shaft (top side) only. They said to do it correctly requires the transmission being separated and the engine pulled out. I don't know if that is true.
