I don't really have a point, other than it's a shock, and I've never thought about any of my friends killing themselves. I'm stunned with regret at the thought, even though it's too easy to say any of us would've helped him. I want to call everyone now, and make sure they're alright, and in a good place. I just want all my friends on this board to know, if you're ever down, and you need anything, don't let it go. You can dig out, and if you need help, ask, please!
RIP, Frankie.

I graduated from the police academy on a Friday afternoon, and had to report for my first day of field training the next day (Saturday). It was that day I saw my first suicide. A 40-ish yoa man rented a motel room and committed suicide because his wife wanted a divorce. He had a $300k home, and a $50k new Suburban parked outside the room and he ended his life over a divorce.
It took me several days to quit having nightmares about seeing his body and wondering why as humans we do the things we do to ourselves.
I've seen God-awful things for the last 20 years, and it's something I've learned to deal with.

Money means nothing when you go through something like that. Neither does much of anything else except the pain of your heart being crushed. I'm not saying it was the right move on his part. I'm just saying I understand.

I lost a step brother and a close friend to drug overdoses which I basicaly consider committing suicide. While there was definitely grieving, in the end both times I've found myself lacking in sympathy for them and whatever reason they had to hurt their friends and family by doing something that selfish. Nothing is so bad that you should kill yourself. Even animals are smart enough to practice self-preservation. While I know how you feel and can understand how badly you're hurting, your friend is a real asshole for putting you and others that knew him through this."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson
