Had a friend commit suicide last night.

It is a tough loss for sure.

On a side note, My mom is a retired teacher; and had a teacher friend's son who was in the 5th grade commit suicide. He was afraid that since his mother was a teacher and he had failed a course in school that she would be too harsh on him, so he committed suicide. It was very sad because she came home to find him hanging from his closet...

I've been to the scene of 5 deceased persons in the last week. One was a 12 gauge to the mouth. I will never figure this out.

A friend, mentor, and colleague shot himself last Wednesday night. Totally unrelated to these two band members, but still. I know with my friend, he had some serious demons he never could shed. Tried really hard, but couldn't get away from them. He was worth a killing, very successful business owner, etc. Seemingly had everything you could want. But just couldn't be happy. Then his health started declining, and I think that was his final straw.

Most generous guy I've ever met. A friend of ours made a comment one day, "Hey man I really like those shoes" and a week later UPS dropped off a box of those shoes. Gave countless dollars and hours to charity, and would give a complete stranger anything they needed. I know the demons he had, just sucks that such a good, kind hearted person couldn't shed the shit. Not that any life is expendable, but with him the world lost someone special.

I dont mean to be an asshole, but I cant feel sorry for someone who knowingly takes their life. I had a good friend do so a year ago, and well the more I think about it, the more I realize he knew full well what he was doing, and had more than enough opportunities to get help. I do however feel sorry for the friends and family that they left behind with such a selfish decision.

I dont mean to be an asshole, but I cant feel sorry for someone who knowingly takes their life. I had a good friend do so a year ago, and well the more I think about it, the more I realize he knew full well what he was doing, and had more than enough opportunities to get help. I do however feel sorry for the friends and family that they left behind with such a selfish decision.

The opportunities to get help mean nothing if the person doesn't want or recognize the need for help.

The ones that talk about ending it all are the ones that know they want/need help. It's the ones that never say anything that you have to look out for. I had a friend kill himself and no one ever knew there was a problem. He always seemed happy and had no signs of depression of any kind.

Now, I've been suicidal in the past, and let me tell you that the feeling REALLY sucks. I can tell you from experience that sometimes you just feel like there is no other option. Is it selfish? Of course, but some people don't see that. What has kept me from actually making an attempt is the thought of putting my family through that kind of grief. I don't want my nephews (and soon to be niece) to deal with it. I have great friends that care enough to let me call them anytime of the night if needed and I have had to take them up on it from time to time.

When you see it repeatedly you will adjust to it, well some do...Growing up in the ghetto of CA ive seen a lot of shit I shouldn't have seen as a kid growing up. From LAPD making it rain on a criminal and dragging his ass to the wall where I was at(holes everywhere) to people getting shot point blank at parties... Over time its like seeing a dog hit by a car..No biggie just shock at the moment..

Yeah, everyone was kind of waiting for this one after Frankie went. I don't think I've seen Adam sober in 10 years, though. Fuck....
