What's going to crush America IMO, is our dollar will become worthless because we're printing money like it's going out of style. Once that happens, and the world stops trading in US dollars, we're screwed.

I know Canada isn't perfect, but at least my money there won't become worthless. And our personal opinion is that it's a better place to raise our kids, based on family values.

I can respect that, but do you honestly believe the collapse of the us dollar wont have an affect on Canada?

It really doesn't take much. The visa was about $250 and the plane ticket was about $1500. You have to have $5000 to enter the country. I have no children, no spouse, and nothing keeping me from doing this.

Of course not, it will have a global impact. But without question, the US will be, by far, the most impacted. And impacted for the longest duration of time.

Hell, I could get behind a decision like this if you instead said "I'm going to spend some time out of the country to grow as a person, and look for the knowledge I can use to bring back and better this country". But you seem to be saying "I don't like how things are going so I am leaving. And if nothing changes to my liking, I am never coming back".
