So I had a 20% off Home Depot coupon, went down and got a Ryobi 18V lithium ion setup with the drill, 2 batteries, charger & a bag.......it was $79 after the coupon. VERY nice.

Although I will say I've bought other HF tools had very little problems with them.
Update...I bought the Harbor Freight cordless drill also. I needed to add knobs to every cabinet in the new house ( I hate no knobs). HF had their 18V cordless drill for $14.99 during thier "Black Friday" sale. So I bought it, so I could use one to drill & the other to screw on the knobs.

I've got about 10 hours on the HF cordless drill.....nothing wrong with it. It doesn't have quite as much torque as the Ryobi, and the battery doesn't last quite as long. But for 14.99, it's a pretty good buy.

I've got a 10 y/o Makita 6211D with a 1/2" chuck that is proving to be indestructible. Original charger still ticking as well. All my Makita old flashlights are still working.

it's nice to have cordless tools but a typical homeowner can live without it!

buy some cored electric tools! buy it once and never have to buy it again an that includes batteries. i laugh when i see someone buy a $200 dollar drill that they use only a few times a year!

I will admit, my cordless drill is easily older then I am that my old man gave me.

With that said, I use the hell out of my cordless Milwaukee set with lithium batteries.

I bought one of Milwaukee's cordless impact and this little bitch is awesome. Use it for everything, dropped numerous times and still works. Has a long battery life and they charge fairly quick.

I bought a Porter Cable at Lowes. It came in a kit with a circular saw and two batteries. I am real happy with the drill. The saw is nice if you have only a few smallcuts to make. The saw eats the battery pretty fast, but it is really light and handy. I had a Harbor Freight drill that worked fine for several years, but the charger went bad, and they had no way to get another one. The dumb guy there tried to sell me another battery. I just looked at him and said, Why ?"

I bought a 19.2 Volt C3 Craftsman Drill online a couple of days ago for $39.99. For the money I think it's hard to beat.
