This. Damn fine knife for the money. I got mine (3 something inch blade) for around 60.

I have a Kerahaw Blackout. My only complaint is that one time while hiking around in CO, I had it clipped on my belt, and it opened up. Could have gutted me! So now I just keep it in a pocket. It was more than $50, anyway.

Spyderco Tenacious. Not sure if this one is made in the USA or not but it's a great knife for under $50.

I bought a SOG Twitch II about a year ago, and it's been awesome. Awesome edge holding, assisted open, very slim, good weight to it, awesome design. Some SOG knives (fixed blade only) are made in Taiwan, some (middle of the line folding knives) in the USA, and the high end ones are made in Japan. The Twitch II is made int he USA, which is one of the reasons I bought it.

I would highly reccommend this knife, especially if you work in slacks or khakis and have to tuck your shirt in on the job. It's slim, sits down in the pocket nicely, and isn't very heavy.

I've been carrying one of these for 5 years and it is a great knife, sharpens well and holds an edge decent.

I have had this knife for 2 years. I've used it hundreds of times and never sharpened it. It'll still slice a sheet of paper like it is brand new. I also bought it because it was made in the USA. I believe it is the fastest opening legal knife. It's spring loaded and very quick. I'll use it till it breaks (if it ever does) and I'll go buy another. Only thing I've ever had to do to it is tighten the clip screws.

Glad to see more positive reviews on this knife. I read all I could find about assisted-open knives, and a metric shit-ton of reviews about several of them. I settled on this one and couldn't be happier. I never use the lock that keeps it from opening in your pocket by accident, and it never has opened in my pocket by accident even after loosening the fulcrum screw(I don't know if that's what it's called, but that's what it does, anyway). I keep it in my back pocket, which is why I wanted one with a safety lock just in case, but in a little over a year I haven't put the lock on and it hasn't opened accidentally once.

The ONLY downside to this knife is I wish it had a liner lock instead of a lock back, but that's not a really big deal, since I'm never in a hurry to close a knife, only to open it if necessary.

^^ I've carried a small pocket knife for years and I've gone through a few 30-50 dollar knives. Not one has stood up quality wise as this one so far. I even accidently spilled some marine battery acid on the blade when I was using it to cut open the bottle. I thought the knife was toast. I wiped it off quickly but I figured it would cause it to rust but there has been not a sign of it. Just a small stain on the blade. SOG has sold me. They have some pretty sick knifes in their selection.

Knives, multi-tools, packs and gear designed to meet the most rigorous requirements for professional use, outdoor adventures, or daily carry.

Even the Gunny recommends them. I'm looking at getting the Voodoo Hawk for Christmas.

I carried little kershaws for years, and recently made a switch to a $65 benchmade. This bitch is bad, and I am a benchmade believer.

I have a Kershaw 1660ST, LOVE this knife. Made in USA, and you can find it under $50 if you shop around.

For those of you with serrated blades, do you ever find yourself needing that? I had a Gerber Gator for a while before getting the Kershaw and I did not like the serrated blade.

Yes, like rope and rubber, that are difficult to cut with a standard blade. I've got no clue how to sharpen the serrated edge though.
