When that huge hail storm came through a couple years ago, you know the one that tore ul everyones roof? Well everyone in the hood had to get their roofs done. We had a navigator, an expedition, a 90 bronco and a 03 gt that got hail damage. The navigator had about $1900 in damage, expedition had about $2800 (had is metal, navigator is fiberglass), and the mustang got $2000. Our neighbors had a corolla sitting outside that looked like someone took a golfclub to it. It had probably 10x as bad of hail damage than our cars. The bronco had only 2-3 dings, cowl panel on stang broke. Shit was bad.

I was working at Toyota when that came through, the only cars that got hail damage were the corollas. I guess we can say that all toyota's are junk because the corolla's dents, just like we can call all spoiled 18yo's idiots.

So a car sitting completely in the open got tore up, makes sense.

Besides, you said, probably had? You don't even have facts, you are pulling shit out of thin air. Sorry, arguments aren't won off of "probably-had's".....

you guys need to pull your heads out of the ground and get with the current times. they are no longer the crappy cars they used to be. i bought my kia in january 2006 and since then i have beat on it for 133,000 miles and it runs better than my moms 2007 accord. has had less problems too

i bought mine base model/manual trans because i wanted a long lasting car, not because i have bad credit. i choose to use my good credit on things that actually matter, not status symbols like the newest and nicest cars which will not be worth shit in 10 years anyways

i would point out your flaws but after reading your posts after the last few months i would rather just watch you beat yourself up with your own posts haha

My 97 continental had less problems than the '12 stang, does that make it better?

That's ignorant. That same hail storm totalled 13 roofs on my street. My roof was completely undamaged. It has more to do with the storm and very, very little to do with the manufacturer of the car.

                          Quadforce,

Go drive the Optima and decide for yourself. You can see that there is a load of bias around here with people that have made up their own minds. The fact is that Kia and Hyundai no longer build shit. There definitely was a time that they were but not any more.

The fact is that no one really makes bad cars any longer. Suzuki is constantly rated as the worst cars but even their stuff is pretty good when compared with anything built 10 or 15 years ago.

You're always going to hear folks bitch about the time they had a problem with so and so car brand. Those complaints may indeed be very valid but they are also just anecdotal when compared to the overall picture. You also never know of the person bitching did something to screw up the car themselves. Folks are rarely capable of admitting their own faults.

Oh, and on that fuel economy thing. Hyundai and Kia admitted fault and are giving debit cards to everyone that bought those cars, paying them the difference based on the miles they have driving. Name one car company that has come back and given money to buyers after admitting a mistake. They probably did it to cut any class action suit off at the knees but it was still a damn good move from a business perspective.

So go drive it yourself. Just stay the fuck away from Central Kia. Those guys have a terrible reputation. Try out Moritz Kia. Ed Wallace thinks very highly of them.

Oh, and consider trying out the new Ford Fusion. That car is beautiful.

They are ok vehicles IMO. I work on alot of them and parts are pretty high and they seem cheaply built.

I can honestly say I would never choose a car based on how it would fair in a hail storm.........

All cars are cheap flimsy metal nowadays. Its all about fuel efficiency/eco-friendly bullshit, form follows function. There also cheaper to ship by the bushel to North America.

I was eye fucking a car in traffic the other day. Turned out to be an Optima that was de-badged and had a new stance. Looked nice.

I'm just saying, there was a clear difference between even what my cheap civics/cobalts/etc did and what these cars did.
