but I believe they put a hold on the money even though they don't charge it... I had this happen in Houston about 7 years ago. I used my debit card for 2 rooms for a week for work and they put the hold on my bank funds... luckily it wasn't a big deal but if I didn't have the money then it would have sucked

Oh I know they will, they just hold that amount for a couple of days. Which I can afford, I just wish I had a credit card. lol

*edit, I missed the part about it being a debit card. Then yes, your bank will hold the funds aside, as a precaution.
