Tell her this guy will be going to our local kill shelter that puts down "owner surrenders" after 24 hours.
(He really won't, but the dogs at rescues are being fostered and in no danger, and when someone tells us they're going to take it to a shelter, we usually cave in and take it until a home can be found.)
