Nevar had a good Xmas or thanksgiving. Either my brother was locked up or my sister was overseas. It's been like that for over 8 years. I try to make the most of it with my son by telling him Xmas is not about what cool toys you got, the baddest gaming console you got, the money you received. It's about spending the time with your family and being grateful for the experience. It's not about the want, its about the need. I come from divorced parents also and to me I always remembered the time spent with them, not the gifts. Ever since then it hasn't felt the same because we haven't been there together as a family; me my sister and my mother and the nephews. This year will be the same. My brother is still locked up and my sister now lives in Georgia. When I sit down and think about it.....I fucking hate this holiday.

I thought you only had a nephew? Anywho, kids don't realize that Christmas is about family till they get a little older, I think. I wish I was off this holiday season but I have to work them all. Otherwise I'd say come over, my family is out in west Texas and they usually have the family from dallas go down there so we started a little something out here with my small family and 2 cousins who usually can't make it out there either.

And I hate how fake everyone is around my Grandma, the family matriarch. All of my scumbag money-grubbing relatives just go over to her house to kiss her ass so that they can somehow get at her money. I don't want her fucking money and I am not going to be fake and change my lifestyle for a chance to get at it.
I would love to spend some time with my family and have a real conversation, but I can't. When we get over there it is prayer and worship time first, then I get asked if I have "been drinking any of that beer, the devil's drink" and how that is a terrible lifestyle choice that will send me to the gutter (my grandma also told me how disappointed she was in my for going to Baylor because it was a baptist university when there was a perfectly good adventist school in keene). I also was told how disappointed my grandma was at our entire family for dancing at my cousin's wedding (dancing is evil). Then I get chastised for not coming down and visiting more. Did I mention my grandma remarried at 89 and now makes me call this dude grandpa as if I have know him my whole life? Right before the "meal" we have a reading from the bible and more prayer bullshit, then they praise my fake ass loser cousins for having gone to the Adventist ceremony with them and chastise us for not doing it.

So yeah I think I will go skiing with my girlfriend, have some per-marital sex, drink some beer/whiskey/demon drink, smoke a few cigarettes, and watch TV on Saturday instead.

Lol, he was my sisters son. I've got two others from my brother, 9yo and 7yo. I hardly get to see them during the year and hardly see them during the holidays. I've helped his ex raise those two boys as if they were my own. I've had them maybe 3 Xmas's since the 9 yo was born. Even then it was just for a few hours. I've never been able to have the whole family together for one Xmas. Usually its just me, my son and my mother.
