Well those gun control asses would interpret it that way. "Oh no! No one knows anything about guns, we should get rid of them. Keep them for the trained professionals, like the police and FBI!"

Personally, I feel that guns should be allowed to be carried openly or concealed. Like most, my mind is made on that one and I understand the counter arguments and nothing is changing it.

..wait or were you saying only to not scare the non-gun carrying public?

      Pretty much.

I've had a lot of interesting CCW/CHL questions and reactions. Namely, I still have a few people that are surprised I LEGALLY carry (no idea CCW was legal) and folks freak out when I tell them I carry in places they think is illegal (but are $10,000 unlicensed possession locations)... that also ties in with explaining to business owners how their own signage works; this is also infuriating. Tons of people are unaware of basic CCW legalities and we've had CHL in Texas since 1995. The harassment alone is why I wouldn't open carry.

Fair enough and that's most certainly why I'd most likely conceal carry...just would like the freedom to otherwise and/or not be arrested if it happens to be visible. I understand what you're saying though...to each their own..etc.

Yes, I could not agree more.

Yes, We were out the other day and was with a few friends. Went into an establishment with a "guns prohibited" sign in front. One of my friends freaked out because they know I CC. I tried to explain how/when it is legal or not with respect to signage. Absolutely fell on deaf ears! They were freaked and did not want to be around me. Then the other two started to question me like I was breaking the law!

Long story short...I excused myself and went home. It is sad how uninformed the general public is about this.

Sad part is, it spreads like cancer too. They'll tell 2-3 friends...etc and they will all think YOU were wrong. Cause ya know, they are experts.

I am licensed and I already carry. I am not a proponent of open carry (meaning I'm not lobbying for it's passage and I'm not an outspoken supporter, etc) but I'm all for it. I'll still continue to conceal.

I OCed for a few years in North Carolina when I was stationed there. For the most part folks were too pre-occupied with shit to notice the hunk of metal and polymer. The ones that did never gave a shit.

There is a group in Texas trying to get OC pushed though but each legislative session it's never really looked at because they "have more important things to work on".

I would like open carry with a license, not because I would want to open carry, but because I wouldn't have to care whether I expose, brand, or show accidentally. Oregano and Washington have open carry... and they lib states.

That's pretty much what everyone here likes about it. I haven't seen anyone walking around actually open carrying yet.

Could it also be mandated that they be on break away lanyards? Sure would suck to be forced by your laws to wear a strangle hold around your neck...

Honestly if I open carried, I would wear duty belt type equipment so the assumption would be you are LEO. I have a Comp Tac holster with trigger lock on it and a double mag pouch. Throw some sort of handcuff pouch on it (not illegal) and 99% people will ignore it.

Then on the flipside, I would look like I am pretending to be Johnny Law...while just trying to be ignored.

Most of them ignore or don't notice anyway.
