I wonder if the non-chl thugs will open carry since no one will ask to verify CHL ownership. maybe they should be required to wear the CHL ID on a lanyard???

IF this ever becomes Texas Law, I will probably not open carry. I would just be happy that I wouldn't have to choose my wardrobe quite so carefully any longer. Wouldn't have to worry about "printing"...

Actually gun laws here are pretty slack. It takes 5 minutes to get a Carry permit, and you can pretty much shoot anywhere you have land, or on state game lands.

That is a nice thing for sure. No real need for a range, but there are a few restrictions - nothing terrible though.

Little more than that...10 hours state mandated class time + paperwork + ~60 days of wait time.

Far as open carry...I don't want to be the first target when a shooter starts shooting...open carry kind of gives it away who he/she should shoot at first....

False. In PA you fill out an application with references and have a passport picture. Then wait for background investigation which takes a few weeks. No course is required. Look it up for yourself.

Personal preference, plus it give the freedom to do so and can provide some peace of mind in case your weapon peeks out and someone sees it.

Pretty much yea. I'm not Law Enforcement and J.Q. Public is uneducated towards firearms in general, let alone open carry/concealed carry licensing. I prefer an IWB holster, a loose button-down and not broadcasting that I have a weapon.

However, that said, I would vote for it. It would make my entire wardrobe 100% CCW viable!!!
