you grab a cab home after a night at the bar and your wife leaves her purse in it. You don't even know what cab company it is. You paid cash. The driver calls your phone 2 hours later and has the purse. Lessons learned? Don't let your wife out of the kitchen and tip your cabbies well.

I left my entire laptop bag, rushing home from a businece trip once, with my wallet in it and all. Didn't even realize it until I got home. It was late on a Saturday, and I called the cab company, who had no idea about the bag I was asking about. I called the airport and airline after that, which are both closed on Sunday.

Talk about having a pit in my stomach all day, essentially my entire life was in that bag. Everything is replaceable and password protected, but a royal PITA to replace.

Finally got a call Monday, and in the rush I had left the bag in the overhead bin. Everything was still in there fortunately, and I don't rush anywhere anymore, with out triple checking for EVERYTHING.
