DWI Checkpoints- are they legal in Texas?

Been done plenty of times before. From what I remember, cities have to get a permit for them. Technically it's profiling which I don't think is supposed to be done, but when has that stopped the popo before?

Same exact thing here, minus the sweet car. I've partied it up hardcore plenty of new years and this is the first one I decided to sit out. I tried to get a close friend of mine to have a party at his place so I could just crash there, but he (or his wife more likely) didn't want a bunch of drunk asses at his house. Sooooo........I'm pulling a mustangman 2000 and will just drink a bit at the casa. At least my hangover won't be as furious this time as it has been in the past.

They're legal. If they see you bust a U or turn away they will usually go after you. Just wait...blood warrants are coming. Basically, if you refuse to do the tests, you get arrested, brought to the jail and a judge signs a warrant that authorizes them to take your blood.

This site says that Texas says they're unconstitutional and doesn't conduct them. According to the top of the page, it was made in December of 2010 so I don't know what's up with that.
