Simply put the northeast is not built for stuff like this and the people are generally not prepared for stuff like this. Bad combo.

in the southern areas that see more huricanes they build structures much differently, plus the utilites and backups are planned ahead.

Id hate to see some of the old buildings that are going to crumble with this storm. Hopefully not too much gets destroyed.
