  • Having a Car Dealer Issue.

Bought a car in the beginning of September. The temp tags expire at the end of this month. I live in McKinney and the Car lot is in Desoto. The Owner of the lot lives in Carrollton. I called him last week and told him I haven't received anything in the mail yet. Since I bought the car I had my out of state number changed to a local number. He said he screwed up and the plates came to him. He said he tried calling me. I was like that's cool, asked him if he was going to be in the Plano area so we could meet up.He said we could meet up Sunday. He communicated all the way up to Saturday night about meeting up. Sunday I texted him with the address where my family and I were going to eat at off midway/190. He no shows. Basically he has stopped responding to my text and calls. I have all the paperwork for the sell but nothing has come in the mail as far as title or plates.

What can I do at this point?

I go down and transfer the title and they give me the plates, then I just mail them to my customer. Something fishy there.

Yeah the state doesn't mail plates, they hand them over. I beg he misplaced them.

I know this much about the lot. The owner is a former Cowboy's wr. He played for them back in the late 80's I believe. I wanna say his name is Dixon. I have his dealer tag number if someone can look it up.

Read this thread. I had a similiar issue about a year ago.

Call the dealer and threaten to file a claim with TX motor vehicles. They have 2 weeks to handle that stuff and if they don't it is a pretty hefty fine. When I threatened the dealer I was having problems with I got my stuff within a week.

I bought a truck from a licsensed used car dealer in Arlington on July 26, 2011. I took the loan through PenFed, paid for the vehicle, signed papers, and got temporary tag. It is now 9/20/11 and my temporary tags expire today. Penfed is threatening to up my interest from 2.49 to the interest for a non-collateral loan which is 8
