  • Inheritance Tax

Has anyone dealt with this recently? I'm a beneficiary on an account and I need to know how the taxes work. I know I have to claim it on my taxes but I am not sure how much I will be taxed for the inheritance.

Even though you'll report it, none of the inheritance will be taxed as long as its under 5 million.

$5.12 million or so. I figured if it was that much, he damn sure wouldn't be on this site asking about it. A probate attorney would be in order.

                Keeping the poor poor.

Why the fuck must individuals pay tax on inheritance? Using the same logic of capital gains, this is already "taxed" money.

Shit, 5.12 mill is chump change. I just didn't want to pay an attorney for this measley amount of money.
