  • Set up to get married...thoughts?

Totally fictional story, but what would you do if a chick you were with got pregnant to force you into staying with/marrying her? Clearly, abortion is off the table since doing so takes away her leverage.

No way in hell. I could still be a father and not be married.

^ THIS! I for damn sure wouldn't marry her, because this little stunt tells you all you need to know. That is fictional advice, of course.

You should marry her and raise a happy family. It's obvious that you love one another by the sharing of flesh. Congratulations on the happy family.

I would take her on a wonderful jungle vacation and leave her there.

So when is your baby due?

If you don't want to marry her then don't. In my opinion a miserable marriage makes for a worse environment to raise a child than two happy homes. It will cost less to stay single and pay the child support than to marry her, lose all your shit in the divorce, and then have to pay child support anyways. Just make sure you are a good father and there for your child at all times.

I can promise you this isn't about me. Jimmy never goes out without his raincoat and I have a chain of custody after I'm done. Condoms are never handled by the chick. I bring my own and I'm the one who disposes of it. One thing I've learned is that you can't trust women.

If it bleeds for 7 days and doesn't die it can't be trusted

IMO marrying this hypothetical woman would be a huge mistake for the man, the woman, and even worse, the child...

When you are married, you are committing yourself to the woman, not the child. If you come in under these kind of circumstances, you have multiple strikes against you.

Now, if there are other GOOD reasons to marry that girl then go for it. But those reasons need to be that she is the right girl for you and you actually love her and are willing to sacrifice for her. The child shouldn't be a reason at all but instead a blessing that just happened a little early...

A child is greatly benefited by two parents that deeply love each other MORE than even that child. They put each other before that child. The child sees TWO parents that love each other and grows up knowing that their parents will always be together.

Today, as I approach my ninth month as a father, I'm having check myself because I'm madly in love with my son and I think I've given him attention to the detriment of my wife. I'm already making adjustments to make sure she remains at the forefront of my life. My son will only benefit from that.

So in summation.. NEVER get married just because there is a pregnancy. Take charge as a FATHER to that child but don't become a Husband because of the child. If that marriage goes wrong, you'll not only blame the girl, but the child that is blameless. If I were in that situation, I would push hard to gain custody of that child, but that's just me..
