Actually, you err on the side of freedom because that is the natural state of man. You cannot enforce these laws, they turn into revenue generation. Proof? How many drunk drivers are on their 4th or 5th offense and paying fees and fines instead of prison? How many people speed because there's no way to ensure everyone follows the law?

The fucking solution is so easy but none implements it. Every phone has GPS now days... If the GPS detects you are moving more then 5 mph.... There should be an automatic texting lock. Problem solved with a simple software update..

And you'll always have developers/hax who mod their phones to remove garbage like that. This is one of the beauties of the AOSP, you, the end user can have total control over your device.

It is very easy to pick out the idiots who are texting while driving. If that is said they'll just write up a careless driving or failure to obey a road sign or some other related charge.

I am for it when that "personal responsibility" ends up in my lane while I'm on my bike, or the thousands of other scenarios that go along with those who are oblivious and fully believe texting is far more important than driving. Why can't people be responsible by showing a little common courtesy instead of adding to the inattentive statistic. It's like reprimanding a child. After they are told not to do stupid shit with something and they keep doing it, eventually it has to be taken away.
