    x2

Just so we are on the same page and I know how you love the however comments. The guy did need a good take down/tackle/wrist lock whatever, but who the fuck lines up to box? There is no doubt the guy resisted. He did throw up his arms while pushing off, and kinda bladed. I can see maybe a distraction strike( I don't do these) but not a MMA match. Also, the fucking security guard told the cops he needed to go. The security guard is supposed to be a reasonable and prudent person and have authorization to make these types of decisions. All you gentlemen do understand that we are not psychic right? I am big on de escalation techniques. Once you go to punching what do you expect the other guy to do?

FTP, that cop assaulted the guy, that fact is clear as day.

The other clearly obvious fact, I could out run every single one of those tub-o-lard officers. Jesus, it looks as if the department has a boxing ring, but no treadmill.

While true, why not take 60 seconds to get someone on the phone to verify whether or not he's supposed to be there. You know, actually do your job thoroughly, rather than just beating the shit out of people for fun.

Take the beating out of this, and I liken it to the cops that arrested a guy (with no evidence) when the car dealership realized they made a mistake on a sale price, and told the cops the customer stole the car. Those dumbasses should be fired too, for not doing their job thoroughly. Not just the salesman, but the cops involved as well. If my job isn't done thoroughly, I get fired. If I make false accusations with no proof, I get fired. I don't see why this should be done any differently.

Here is the problem as far as I can see it. I'm torn heavily, because I can understand why someone would resist in that situation. It's not much, if any different that being arrested while in your home for nothing.

However, if they did not try to restrain him and he bolted - everyone would be pissed off too. Especially if he was a wanted felon or something. It's not that they tried to restrain him that really ticks me off, and again I get why a person would resist in his situation. It's the handling of it only. The cops were called to be there after all, but the abuse was not professional in any way.

I was tired of typing to be honest but yes it got hot faster then it should have and there was some basic investigative skills that got missed. I also chimed in on the stolen car about who the fuck would ever take that as stolen. We all make mistakes but I like to err on the side of the customer(you like that). When I train guys I tell them their attitude will dictate how most calls go. I have seen many a police with the FU my way or the highway attitude and they can not figure out why they are in fights all the time. I have told many an officer to leave, back off, or calm the fuck down. I have also had many come back and tell me thanks later thet they just got pissed. You can not take this job personal. I have been MFed more then once and I just laugh it off. I have never even had the urge to punch someone even after some bad ass chases and foot pursuits. It is all part of the game. If I do stupid shit, all it does is increase the chance the bad guy will get off.

They did make an attempt to restrain him a couple of times and he either backed up or jerked away. There is a good chance, had this fella not resisted, that he would have been detained, questioned, then released.

I can see that, and agree. However, why restrain him? All it would have taken is another minute or two, when he was still on the couch. "Sir, can you sit up for a minute? We need to speak to you. We received a call that you are trespassing. Can you provide proof you are supposed to be here? Anyone that can vouch for you? Ok, what's their phone number?"

That would have taken an extra 120 seconds tops. LONG before the guy ever resisted, or got irritated. I'm looking at this entire thing like this. Had they done a little tiny bit of an investigation, the entire situation would never have escalated. That cop was all too ready to beat the shit out of someone, and take out some frustration. Not only was the level of beating he received entirely unnecessary, but they could have avoided it as well. So basically, they beat the shit out of this guy, because they failed to take the proper steps to ensure everything was above board. It's basic police work. DA's and Judges tend to get pretty fucking pissed when their time is wasted by LE not doing their jobs properly. Not to mention, the arrest records of people that get wrongfully arrested. This guy is already in a home for troubled youth. This arrest certainly isn't going to help him get jobs any easier.

why would they call someone if the security guard of the building employed by the church says hes gotta go?

i wouldn't but it doesn't bother me that he did... only excuse i can come up with in that situation as to why the officer would react that way is that hes an actual boxer of some sort. people when stressed are going to goto their natural instincts.

i dont think at that point it should be required the officer call additional people to verify that its ok for him to be there. the security guard who is responsible for all of that is the one who told the officers its time for the shirtless dude to go. if the officer had chosen to call more people thats fine too but i dont see why he needed to.

There is a difference between restraint and a fight. That cop didn't want to restrain the kid, he wanted to box. If he had tackled his ass and cuffed him while they sorted it out, I'd be far more inclined to let it slide. Instead the cop wanted to punish him. What happened if the kid managed to kick the shit out of both of those cops. Then they'd be putting an APB out on him when he didn't start the fight in the first place. Cops who want to play Judge Dredd deserve the exact same treatment that they give the populace.

Oh, I don't know.... In the interest of the citizens you fucking work for? An attitude like that, your day will come. Jesus Christ. Absolutely no interest in making sure the right people go to jail, and the wrong people stay out.

You're a pathetic disgrace to what a police officer is supposed to be, and I can't wait til you lose your job for a royal fuck up. Typical cop attitude. Anyone's fault but mine. Like a 2 yr old.

Why is the security guard working there then? He is the one in power of saying who stays or goes. Get a clue...
