If your $$$ smells like shit, you should try keeping it in your front pocket.

<--- really wishes Midland would have picked a better spot for their waste water treatment plant instead of right on I20 on the way into town.

My point wasnt to refute the actuality of a convention, it was to point out the fact that situation is everyday life, not that way due to a convention.

I had the displeasure of moving to Big Spring when I was 12. Moved from a plush green 210 acre farm just north of Lawrence, KS. Fortunately we only stayed a year but we then moved to the lesser shit hole just north of Odessa called Gardendale and lived for 4 years then into Odessa for a few years. My entire family got scattered to oil fields all over the U.S. when the Phillips 66 refinery in Kansas City closed down in the early 80's and we got the worst of the locations.

Shit I would walk the extra miles not to have to sleep in this dump another night.

I don't want to hear a word from any of you until you've stayed at The Lil A'Le'Inn in Rachel, Nevada in Area 51.

Lol. STFU with the whining. I'm in town for the oil show. Our hotel "lost" all 30 of our reservations a few weeks ago. I'm staying in a hotel in Iraan, TX and driving 180 miles round trip every day this week for the show.

Strychnine wins the staying in the Biggest shithole town award lol. Iraan sucks a lot worse than big spring. I haven't decided I'm even going to go over to the show this year.

That's a long ass drive for that! What's the cost down there? I work for Midland Safety and Health, I set up H2s monitoring equipment on the rigs. There's a lot more to it but that's the run down.

The only hotel I could find cost 269.00 per night and is the worst I have ever stayed at in my life. Smells nasty, and a smokers room and that was the last one they had, some kind of Oil Field Convention in Midland and every hotel within 50 miles is booked. Did find another hotel about 20-30 miles away in Snyder for 155.00 per night and it's a smoke free and brand new. So made reservation there for the rest of the week, buging out of the Bates Motel in the morning, going to work and looking forward to 5 when I get off, Shit I would walk the extra miles not to have to sleep in this dump another night.
The only places to eat here is fast food. God I love home.
Hey you don't know what a shit hole is. Go 25 miles north on hwy 87 to Ackerly. I spent my first 19 years there and left in 1967 never looking back. This is Brandon's Dad and he has never been there.

True story. Iraan doesn't even have any fast food to complain about. There's some neat views off the tops of the hills that surround the town, but that's about it.

Pronounced "Ira Anne" by the locals and they had a Town & Country last time I was down there. All the deep fried stuff you can stand. While not as nice as the town & country in Kermit with the subway it will get you by.

When I was out there I worked for Schlumberger doing wireline.

Not town and country's anymore. They're all "stripes" now.. Any small town you drive through to get to a location has one and the majority of them are packed 24/7. I worked for Weatherford for about 6 months but I just recently switched to a smaller company. Suprisingly way better pay, I'm a mudlogger.
