I always buy used. The only three times I have purchased from dealers were because they had the trucks priced well below market and didn't realize it

Nothing will piss a used car lot off faster than that. You better like the price they have it at because they aren't likely to negotiate if you pull that card. If you want to bring your mechanic, that is one thing, but if you want to drive it to your mechanic, or something like Firestone, that is where you go wrong.

I look my own over and generally put fuel in for a notified extended test drive. Nothing like buying someone elses problems. If this won't work I'm on to the next one. I NEED a bargain. So I go at the end of the month when they have bills due. Nothing like a fist full of benjamins to negotiate with.
The end of Jan and Feb are best, it seems no one is buying then.Rich
