Self checkout is great until you have some random screw or piece of ply wood. Then you're standing there like a jackass until some associate comes over to comb through the Old Testament to find the magical sku. It's also awesome to wait around for someone to verify I'm over 18 to buy a $4 can of spray paint.

You're right. It's crazy to think that a retail store would actually have people to answer questions and process the sales of their goods.

I guess I'm just weird, because I prefer self checkout, no matter what store I'm at. I also hate when I am walking around a store and am constantly asked if I need help.

I love that I can walk in to my local Home Depot, get everything I need, check out, and leave without ever having to talk to anybody.

I usually shop at HD just because there is one about a block away but I have been finding lately that Lowes is cheaper on just about everything I have price checked.

My point was that woman aren't going to shop at HD because its dirty, poorly lit, etc. & would rather go to Lowes because its clean and nicely lit.
