  • 2013 Ford 5.4 ltre?

My neighbor just got the platinum series. Her son works for Ford and says these will smoke the Ecoboost? Anyone got one yet that can give some input?

He said something about the Ecoboost with programmers burning up the impeller on the turbos too. Interesting topics...

I figure with the way the 302 runs, it might have some merit to it

I don't see that as an option. 3.7,3.5,5.0,6.2

LOL. Might be, but never known him to be. Maybe I misheard him. I will go over and check it out tomorrow. That is why I posted this. Never heard of a 5.4 litre in the new trucks.

              Yeah it's a not a 5.4 If it's the platinum it might actually be a 6.2.

The ecoboost will outrun a 6.2 I've done it!

No 5.4 in the '13. It's most likely the 6.2.

Mine too. He has a 3.5 ecoboost, but is convinced you can get an upgraded V8 ecoboost for $800.

Too bad that's not true. A twin turbo 5.0 Ecoboost would be pretty sweet. Say a nice even, 500hp, 550 torque.

x2. I haven't lost to a gas powered truck. That goes for any make or model. Haven't got to line up with a lightning yet. What's funny is I can almost always tell when someone is wanting to get a jump on me from a red light. They just keep inching up. I just brake boost it to 2k rpms and when the light turns green that's all she wrote. I don't even try anymore with the chevy 5.3s. Those things are a joke.

I didn't realize the Ecoboost would outrun the 6.2L. Does it need a tune to do so?

Nope! My truck is completely stock.

It runs 9.3x's in the 1/8th mile. It's 4x4 also.

Nope. The ecoboost gets the jump on the 6.2 early on and all the 6.2 can do is stay even with it after that. In my experience from a dead stop I have them by a truck to truck and a half all the way to 70mph.

How's the fuel mileage? As advertised or better/worse?
