Laser hair removal advice needed.

I read a ton of bad reviews on laser hair removal itself. Lots of people saying that it either didn't work, or that it took a shit ton of visits, that it hurts like hell, that it left marks, that when the places get you in they hard sell you on buying long term packages, or bait and switch you off of the advertised deals, etc.

I know a couple of chicks who have had some level of success with it, but it seems iffy for as much money as it costs.

FWIW, the girls I know had zero complaints. I'm not sure where they went, and I'm sure it wasn't cheap, but neither is their time.

heh, I've pondered the same thing for mine. She says she wants one, but...

1. It takes dedication and is a long ass process - at least for the consumer ones. Mine is busy as hell all the time and I think it'll just end up sitting in the bathroom not being used.

Even the people who rave about them enough to make a blog, their blogs go on for months and months. They still have hair after 4-6 months.

2. That's if it works - it seems hit or miss overall. I'm not saying I'm specifically familiar with the one you're looking at, but the ones I was checking out were 400ish dollars. Seems like a lot of money for a "maybe."

3. Then there are parts that need replaced and they are not that cheap either - so after a year, if she is dedicated and it works you may only be out 600ish dollars.

My wife got the professional one done several years ago, those don't work either. You have to go back about every 10 years to have it done again. It's a waste of money unless you have money to burn.
