Heading to Washington DC

Heading to Washington DC for the first time. Any suggestions on places to see? I plan on the White House, Capitol building, few of the memorials and stuff. Any other places that are cool to check out? Also any restaurants I need to try? any info is appreciated!

If you want to see the WH, you had better have checked before hand so you can have a background check. They don't play there.

Then go to Georgetown to drink.

MArine Museum (not in downtown - closer to Quantico)
The "Newseum" - WELL worth the money. You can spend a whole day there.
Arlington National
Smithsonian Flight museum at Dulles...

US Mint (Don't take any money with you...they make you leave it at the door and return it to you at the end!)

I was stationed there in 1992 - 1994 and I used to go party in Tysons Corner and Baltimore. You could go walk around Baltimore as well!
