GoPro app is out!

Don't know if the media section was the right place to put this, and I figured that that wouldn't get many views, so I am putting it here too.

Just got the email and got done downloading everything. The app to control the camera with a tablet or smartphone is out. Right now it looks as if only the apple apps are out, but soon to be released are the google play (droid) apps.

Got mine working and it seems to be pretty cool, a huge advantage is being able to see what the camera is pointed at.

Yes, I had to do the firmware on the camera the way they did on the video. I'll get the link, cause mine didn't work at first either.

It works pretty good, like I said the best part is that you can see what you are pointed at.

It has a wifi backpack for the camera that transmits to an iPad or iPhone and uses an app to "talk" to the camera. You can then control the camera from inside of the car and see what is showing.

Hmm. I'm not sure that it would be practical for me and how I generally am using my gopro, but cool as hell None the less.

Yeah, kind of wouldn't be worth it unless you were using it in a car.

Well I am, but that car is running around a race track for 8 hours plus without stopping to ness with a camera.

Well, with the wifi kit you get a small remote, which would better serve you in a race car. It would let you turn the camera off and on and also start and stop video. It's pretty neat, worth looking into if it interests you.

I have the Wi-Fi backpack/remote and I downloaded the Ap yesterday. Unfortunately my Macbook isn't the right OS version to download the GoPro software. If anyone know where to download the Snow Leopard update, let me know.
