They can clean you out if they get to it quick enough, but it is some bad pain from what I understand, and not always a success. Dad had an Army buddy die from it way back.

My appendix was on the left as well, it's not all that uncommon. I went to the ER twice for mine. They missed it the first time. when I woke up from a dead sleep screaming in pain about 4 hours later and my dad carted my ass up there again they were like 'oh shit it's gonna burst, guess we better do something'(paraphrasing of course).

Long story short, make SURE it isn't your appendix. Just because you hurt in a different spot than a normal person doesn't mean SHIT!
