After reading your explanation, you have earned the right to be a bit touchy. Thanks dude. You won't hear another negative word from me. You are a certifiable badass. Thanks for all you do.
God bless
i feel like just putting him on ignore to resist the urge.. sorry to hear about all that, carry on with your trolling
I just got back from Children's with my son. He's in a cast to his shoulder and I spent all night not sleeping so, it's off to bed for me. Thank yall for the well wishes. His widow thanks you too.
I was shot between the eyes with a 7.62 during a firefight on Black Sunday in Sadr City Iraq. The firefight continued for several hours and the vehicle I was being med'evac'd in was hit my 2 RPG's and we remained fighting for better part of a day after we were injured. Back at the FOB I was overdosed on morphine which killed me and I woke being put into a body bag in Baghdad.
I have severe TBI, severe PTSD, anger issues, paranoia, anxiety, survivor's guilt (which this doesn't help) and so on and so forth.
If you would like to know more, I was in Time Magazine called 3 Roads Back and was on Nightline. There were a couple books published about the day, one by my colonel, Colonel Volesky.
Holy shit....this is incredible that you can even talk about this. I can't imagine what you have went through.

I mean, once you got past the strippers hurling themselves at me and the pie eating contest and playing chase the donuts with the police union, it wasn't that bad. Combat is absolutely nothing like TV shows. There's more bitches and you make millions on book deals immediately afterwards

I'm on my iPad so copy and pasting the TIME article is a pain in th ass. I think several people here would be interested in the read.
If you like, I'll create another thread, but this one isn't about me. It's about a great man who, when he was told he couldn't serve, kept trying. He spent time in Korea, Germany, all around the US, always looking after vets. Putting his wife and kids second, to help those who were the most wounded.
Just got off the phone with my infantry buddy who is close to the family. Evidently, he was in a bad financial way and his wife is moving in with their daughter by the end of the month. He never let on about any of this. He had lost his house and lived in a duplex, burned through savings after he was laid off at the beginning of the year, but had created a veteran job website to assist soldiers getting back network.
I had no idea. He always was sunny and cherry and always about the bright side of things. He worked for the national organization on disability until he was cut this year, and had just found another job a couple of months ago. Things you find out.
