  • Will be in Dallas tomorrow

I have to have my 2 year old son up at Children's in Dallas tomorrow by 7:45 am for surgery on his hand. They have to knock him out to do it and I'm not happy at all with the thought of him hooked up to all that crap and being put out. I'm taking it harder than the wife is at this point.

I am just putting this here as a kind of vent as I'm kind of feeling helpless on this one. He's 2 and going under general anesthetic tomorrow and there's nothing I can do to protect him once he leaves my sight.

Just don't wind up as your own cop story.

Better a doctor do it than you. Lighten up some.

It's hard seeing the young kids put in that situation. As a father myself Id be the same way too. Good luck with the surgery and I hope everything goes well.

My son had his sinus' worked and they had to put him out. When he woke up he had blood coming out his nose and mouth and was crying. The wife at the time handled it way better than me. Shit I had tears rolling down my face.

          Good luck man.

When we were there last week for his preop appointment, everytime they'd poke him I'd have to stop myself from making them stop.

Kids are awesome healers, and he will bounce back in no time! I'll be thinking about you guys, but everything will be fine.

That's rough.. Leah's daughter is 7 and has had to go under a couple times in the last few months, and it is really a helpless feeling. Hope everything goes smoothly and be prepared to comfort him. Kids tend to wake up crying and not feeling too well.

Should go OK. I had to have surgery when I was two and then again when I was four.

Be on my knees saying a prayer for him in just a second bro. No worries, though, he will be just fine. Keep your head up and stay positive amigo.
May God give us strength and courage in the time of our darkest hours.

Just make sure to be strong for your boy. It won't be as scary for him as long as he sees your resilience.

Children's is a very good hospital. They'll take good care of him. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks yall. He's going to have a cast up to his shoulder. That means club dad. This is going to hurt.

Hope that all goes well for your little guy. The thought of putting a little one under doesn't sit well with me either but the alternative is no surgery and a gimp hand in this case. What caused his need for surgery in the first place?

On the plus side the food at Children's is really damn good but I have been there too many times.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.
